We're finally in the process of giving this website the presence it deserves. I've found myself--happily--with a little more time than I've had in recent years, and so have volunteered to continue and to develop the site further. I'm just going through some wire-framing for designs now, and will be developing things in private for a while. We'll post in all the right places when it's ready, so keep your eyes peeled for an announcement.
Daryl Genz was inducted into BAP in 1996. He has given an immense amount of energy and personal resources to the game, including starting Revolution Footbags with Paul Mestas. Back in 2001, Daryl went out on his own and created Freedom Footbags with his wife, Sunny Freeman Genz.
Freedom Footbags has been instrumental in supporting multiple IFPA World Championships directly, as well as giving 2% of his website sales to IFPA. He has supported many players (myself included), and generally been an advocate for the game in every possible way.
This post is just a way to thank Daryl and support Freedom Footbags. Buy a good footbag through the footbag shop today and support footbag!
I'm currently in the process of upgrading the software and moving things from one server to another. For now, things might not look so great, but the upgrade will allow me to make things better for the time being, until things really get moving.
I've had even less time than normal to devote to anything footbag-related recently, so it's taken me a while to add a few new Posse members to the list that registered. Props to:
Thanks for registering guys :)
BIG props to 2009's only inductee Nick Landes who represented at the 2009 IFPA World Footbag Championships. Thanks for registering Nick!
I have no idea what is happening with this website at this point. I do know that it desperately needs upgrading and an actual design. Unfortunately, I just don't know when I'll have time to do any of that or when someone else will take over the reigns and handle it all in my place. In the meantime, this whole thing is better than nothing :) Peace.
November 2007? That's when I posted here last. Obviously, a lot has happened in that time. I'm not really going to be looking after this site soon, but a couple of people filled out the form to get listed (Rick Reese!!) and so I figured I should post something in the meantime.
There have been some big changes in the structure and intent of the BAP. Honza Weber et al. have made a serious attempt at modernizing the concept of the BAP and have added actual guidelines and such for induction. The bar has been raised.
As apart of the restructuring, this site will be transformed into something more modern as well. It'll get upgraded and have a new theme applied that will make things easier to administrate blah blah blah :)
Stay tuned!
I'm having an issue with broken profile pages. I can see them when I'm logged in, but they're returning 404 for everyone else. I upgraded the site to the latest Drupal (!been meaning to do that!), but it didn't fix the issue. I've run out of time for today, but I'll take another look soon.
I was super-inspired to take this stab at fixing things because Dimitri Kavouras just created his profle! Thanks Dimitri :) I'll have your profile working properly ASAP.
So, the word is that BAP is undergoing an organizational change in order to increase the relevance of new inductions.
Personally, I won't be involved in any of the new changes, and since the crew will want this website to represent their new vision, I will be relinquishing control of it as soon as they have things together.
What changes will be made, I have no idea. In the meantime, I will continue to add new profiles to the database (as they come in) in hopes that the new webmaster will want to stick with the current content management system (since it is superior to everything else out there) and just redesign the template.
So, yeah. There ya go.
David Clavens was inducted at this years IFPA World Footbag Championships. Props David :)
Congrats to the following three:
Welcome to the BAP, guys :)
Just a heads up: this site has moved to a new server recently, and I'm discovering a few bugs around the joint. I'll do my best to fix things up ASAP, but this is obviously not a top priority.
